Center the important content
Position a face or logo near the middle and leave breathing room on every side. The four corners of a square may disappear in a circular display, so do not place important details there.
Use a clean, readable crop
For portraits, include enough shoulders or background to avoid a cramped result. For logos, ensure thin marks remain visible at small sizes. Simple contrast usually works better than a detailed scene.
Export enough pixels
A 1:1 ratio does not guarantee sharpness. Choose dimensions comfortably above the service minimum, then preview the image at a small size. Avoid repeatedly enlarging a tiny source because that cannot restore missing detail.
