Decide whether the image is for viewing or editing
For casual viewing, a longest edge around 1200–2000 pixels is often practical. If the recipient must print, crop, or edit the original, share a full-quality file through an appropriate transfer method instead.
Keep the aspect ratio locked
Enter the desired width or height and let the other value follow automatically. This prevents stretched people and objects. Then compress the resized copy if you must meet a strict attachment limit.
Check text and details
Documents, screenshots, and product labels may need more resolution than ordinary photos. Open the final file before sending and verify important content at normal zoom. Keep the original untouched.
